Lathers' Local 9190L Lathers build walls and ceilings. They build out the structures that will be covered by plaster, drywall or other surfaces. The underlying fabrication creates the base for unique shapes while providing a strong structure. When an architect wants to create unusual shapes or forms, the lather is called in to produce the support structure to achieve the unique look.
Lathers’ Local 9190L was first chartered on May 1, 1921, just 40 years after the birth of the Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America. Lathers’ Local 9190L joined the carpenters on September 1, 1979. Lathers Local 9190L is dedicated to the aim of promoting and protecting the interests of its members.

Carpenter's Lakes & Plains Regional Council Carpentry is one of the oldest known trades that exist. The roots of unions date back to the 1600’s. Organized in the early 1700’s, the Ship Carpenters and Caulkers Club of Boston played a leading role in the events that lead to the American Revolution. Members of the club dumped tea into the Boston harbor on the eve of December 16, 1773. This was later known as the Boston Tea Party.
The Lakes and Plains Regional Council of Carpenters and Joiners Carpenter locals were first chartered in Minneapolis in 1881and St. Paul in 1885. These organizations were created in response to a need for an organized carpenter workforce in this region. The Twin City Carpenters District Council was founded in August of 1915. The Council was formed to give strength to the smaller union locals throughout the Twin Cities.
